🫶 Keep Kindness at the Center

Kindness creates a foundation of trust where everyone feels safe to share their thoughts. When we speak with kindness, people are more likely to engage and contribute meaningfully to our discussions.

💗 Pause Before Responding

Taking a moment before speaking helps you form thoughtful replies rather than quick reactions. This small pause can prevent misunderstandings and shows respect for what others have shared.

🏆 Assume Good Intentions

When someone says something that could be taken multiple ways, assume they meant well. This prevents needless conflict and keeps conversations productive, even when tackling difficult topics.

🚫 No Interrupting

Let people finish their thoughts without cutting in. Interruptions derail conversations and can make people feel unheard. When someone is speaking, focus on listening rather than planning what to say next.

💬 Chat is for Questions and Comments Only

Keep the chat focused on the topic at hand. Using chat for relevant questions and brief comments helps maintain flow without disrupting the speaker.

🙊 Limit Side Conversations & Cross Talk

Side conversations split the group's attention and exclude others. When you speak, address the whole group rather than having one-on-one exchanges that others can't fully follow.

🕒 Keep Responses Under 2 Minutes

Brief comments keep the discussion moving and give everyone a chance to speak. When responses run long, fewer voices get heard and key points can get lost.

😎 Camera Optional

We value your input whether we can see you or not. Feel free to keep your camera off if you prefer - your voice and ideas matter most.

🤚 Use Hand-Raise Feature

Raising your hand creates a fair speaking order so everyone gets a turn, not just the loudest voices. The moderator will call on people in the order hands were raised.

🎥 You are being AI recorded

Sessions are recorded to help capture thematic points and monitor for code of conduct violations. Be mindful that your contributions will be saved, but that we don't distribute videos of discussions to members.

🚪 You are Free to Leave Anytime

Your time is valuable. If you need to step away or have other commitments, you're welcome to leave without explanation. The door is always open to return.

👍 Use emoji to react

Emoji reactions let you show support or agreement without interrupting the flow. They're a quick way to participate even when you don't need to speak.

📝 No Personal AI note-takers

We use read.ai to monitor all club discussions, we do not however, allow members to bring or send their own AI notetaker. If one enters the room, discussion leaders have been instructed to remove them. If your bot continues to attend meetings, especially in your absence, we will reach out to let you know.
