The Sensemakers Salon is a half day of soulful activities, mutual aid workshops & discussions that matter to our members.
During this member-led gathering our members share useful skills and knowledge through short-formed, fast-paced, casual sessions.
On May 30th 2025 from 12 to 3 PM Eastern join us for this FREE annual event where we open the wisdom of our members to the public.
The day is split into four 30 minute time blocks. For three of those blocks, you pick which session to join based on what interests you most. Mix and match throughout the day! During the final block, we mingle -- sending pairs of strangers into breakouts to debrief on the day.

Dear AI: Poems from the In-Between
hosted by Dan Cooney & Jessica Anderson
Write short, meaningful poems using fill-in-the-blank prompts that dig into how you're feeling right now. Whether you're excited about AI or worried about where it's all heading, this session gives you space to put those feelings on paper. We'll use simple writing exercises, with some AI assistance, to help you make sense of this weird, changing world.

Personal Network Health Check
hosted by Alfi Oloo
Take time to look closely at your relationships and figure out which ones actually help you thrive. We'll use practical tools to map out who's in your corner, where the gaps are, and which connections might be draining your energy. This isn't about having the biggest network—it's about building the right one that supports your goals and wellbeing.

MUTUAL AID
1:00 - 1:30 PM Eastern
Stuck Session
hosted by Maring Eberlein
A judgment-free zone where you can finally tackle that thing you can't get past. Bring your roadblocks, dead ends, and frustrations—or help others work through theirs. Through structured conversation and honest feedback, we'll turn vague worries into clear next steps. Sometimes just saying it out loud is half the battle.
or
Money Grows on Trees
hosted by Jasmine Ibrahim
This hands-on workshop gives business owners the exact words they need to explain their worth to customers. We'll break down complex value propositions into clear, everyday language that connects with your specific audience. You'll walk away with a simple toolkit for talking about what you offer in ways that make sense to the people who matter most to your business.

DISCUSSIONS
1:45 to 2:15 PM Eastern
Language is Emotional
hosted by Clair Rock
Words aren't just information—they carry feelings that hit each of us differently. In this frank discussion, we'll explore how certain terms, phrases, and ways of speaking create strong personal reactions based on our unique lives and backgrounds. By sharing our different takes on everyday language, we'll uncover how deeply our word choices matter when connecting with others.
or
Shitty Maps are Helpful
hosted by Joe Elmendorf
Quick, rough sketches can solve problems better than perfect diagrams. In this session, we'll practice making "good enough" maps that capture the heart of complex issues without getting stuck in details. Bring your messy problems and learn how these fast, imperfect drawings can unlock fresh thinking and help you move forward when you're spinning your wheels.

CLOSING
2:15 to 3:00 PM Eastern
Hear from our Chief Sensemaker, Abby Covert about our club membership experience and meet some of our members and leaders.
