HOSTED BY: Abby Covert & Holly Schroeder

July is Disability Pride month and what better way to celebrate than to write sweet letters of persistence to major corporations that have refused to implement well-documented solutions to the accessibility challenges of the disability community.
During this event we will:
- Receive a plain language, low tech crash course on web accessibility including how to check how the sites you are using are doing in terms of reaching standards set by government bodies
- Work in small groups to assess websites together using freely available and easy to use tools
- Learn how to write a letter on behalf of the disability community, or as an individual that has been underserved
By the end of the event we hope to each be more well educated on the state of web accessibility AND have a pile of letters ready for the group to co-sign and send off.
We will bring templates, lists of websites we would love to your help reaching out to, and lots of ideas for how to craft the right message.
This event is free and open to anyone who would like to join.
We hope to see you there!
